Doha: The Civil Aviation Authority and the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization signed, in Tehran today, the Service Providers Agreement to activate the Doha Flight Information Region between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which entered into effect as of this date.
The agreement was signed on the Qatari side by Mohamed Faleh Al Hajri, who is in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), and on the Iranian side, by Mohammad Mohammadi-Bakhsh, President of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran.
Two agreements were signed last April between the two countries. The first was a bilateral agreement for operations linking the Doha Flight Information Region (which was established in accordance with an ICAO resolution) with the Flight Information Region in Iran, and an agreement to increase the number of flights between Qatar and Iran.
