Doha: As part of its continued commitment to sustainability and the environment, Qatar Rail is pleased to announce a new Green Metro commitment, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to celebrate and raise awareness to environmental matters on World Earth Day 2021.
Through this exciting Green initiative, Doha Metro will plant a tree for every 5 Million customer journeys taken on the metro until World Earth Day 2030.
The tree planting initiative seeks to raise the awareness of environmental sustainability, planting trees, and preserving the planet. The trees will provide a visual reflection of the metro’s success in growing ridership and providing greener journeys for all.
This move reaffirms Qatar Rail’s commitment and contributions to a sustainable future, and will help create a green space legacy for all. These trees will become a visual representation of our inputs to the environmental sustainability agenda, for both this and future generations to come.
