Doha: Qatar Voluntary Centre of the Ministry of Culture organised a workshop at Community College of Qatar (CCQ) with the aim of promoting a culture of volunteerism among college students and involving them in the volunteer areas available at the centre, especially during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Maaidh Jubran Al Qahtani, Executive Director of the Qatar Voluntary Centre, said the workshop was presented by the leaders of volunteer work at the centre
He said that his came within the framework of activating the agreement signed by the centre with the CCQ in April, to enhance cooperation in the field of volunteer training and the preparation of students to push volunteer work to new heights.
Al Qahtani explained that the workshop included an introduction about the Qatar Voluntary Centre, its activities and interests, the importance of volunteering in building societies, as well as developing skills for volunteers.
He said the centre is preparing a continuous database for volunteers who participate in various events in the country, especially during the mega sporting event.
He stressed the centre’s keenness to promote the culture of volunteering so that volunteering would be a way of life for all members of society. He also pointed out that the centre is working in the coming period to provide training courses for volunteers to develop their skills.
